Friday Five June 19th 2009

Dairy related friday 5 this time.

What are your feelings about milk?
Milk is yum. I used to drink it a lot, but I’ve cut down on it a lot. Only use it in pancakes.

What are your feelings about cheese?
Cheese is GOD

What are your feelings about yogurt?
Depends on the product, most of it is yummy

How do you feel about soy milk?
Gross. ’nuff said

How far are you from the nearest cow?
I have no idea, but I think it is a 15 minute drive or so.

#40 Post a comment a day on other people’s sites for two weeks

Well, this is going quite good. I just finished #40 on my 101 in 1001 list. This one was not that challenging, except that I almost forgot to post a comment four times, but I made it.  I hope I can actually keep up with this.

WordPress 2.8 and the white screen of death

Today was the day, I could finally upgrade to the stable release of WordPress 2.8. I went to my admin and clicked the button to automatically upgrade, and whoosh there it went.

And then it stopped.

I got nothing but blank pages, the so called white screen of death (similar to the blue screen of death as in NOTHING WORKS!). The site worked, but that was about it.

Then I went searching online for possible solutions and with a simple click I found one of them. Disabling all your plugins and then enabling them one by one to see who the culprit was.

Did that. and now everything seems to be in working order.

How’s Life you say? Pretty Darn Okay I answer

For the past year and month or so I have been in therapy. I have been battling depression and OCD and I can finally say that I am kicking the depression’s ass. I have been for a little while now and in fact I am so far along that in about six months I should be done with therapy. That is what I am hoping for anyway.

But before that happens, the integration back in to society will happen. I’ve already got the part of going to a gym down, now comes the getting a new place and getting a job. I’m still not quite sure what I want to do. Everyone has opted for Children’s Day Care again, but I can’t see myself back there again. And I was definitely not planning on working in a store or something like that.

I might be thinking of doing some volunteer work, but I need to figure out if the social security people are okay with that, since I am still getting paid via them. I’d definitely volunteer at an animal shelter, which, coincidentally also resides on my 101 in 1001 list.

And some may kick me for saying this, but I am actually, genuinly interested in how certain people from my past are doing. I think I’m not made to keep grudges against people no matter how much I think they hurt me. Well actually that is not true, I am indifferent towards my father. But you can’t ask me to take the first step, that would be like kicking myself in the shins several times.

Alright that is enough for now. I leave you all with a cute picture of Lucky Charlie:

a perfect day to share with a friend

I posted a message on twitter asking for blog post topics and almost immediately got a reply from my awesomely good friend Angelique.

@asdotnet what would be a perfect day to share with a friend, what would you like to do, see, visit whatever.

There are actually several things I’d like to.

1. ROADTRIP! I’ve got this thing with roadtrips. I love driving, though I can’t actually drive, but I love to sit in a car and just GO. I need to talk someone into doing this with me. One of my 101 in 1001 list is visiting every province in our country, and that is a great reason for a roadtrip.

2. A day of visiting churches and taking pictures. I love churches for their architectual value and I’d love to go on a trip visiting various churches and discuss their use.

3. Sit in a cafe and just talk and watch people.

These are mine. what about yours?
