When searching through the news, I try my best to find the more goofy and weird items. It is depressing how little I actually find. Couldn’t find a damn thing yesterday and gave it a rest for a day.

Of course today I found some good news items. Some that’ll make you scratch your head and some that’ll make you go ‘Nikki, what the ffff…’. Wait, no that was Helen in Bad Girls. Anyway. I found some interesting stuff, including an update on my earlier post about the guy who slaughtered his dog.

No Drugs in Slaughtered Dog Case
source: nu.nl (dutch)

The 28-ear old Frenchman who slaughtered his dog last Friday, was not under the influence of the so called ‘Magic Mushrooms’. According to Health Care Services the man had a Psychosis. The Frenchman himself told investigators that he took the mushrooms. But a Psychiatrist and other Doctors concluded he did not take them.

So it wasn’t drugs made this man to slaughter his dog. Drugs are still wrong. I will not back down on that statement. The wrong part about this whole item is that they did not say if the man has had Psychosis’s before or if this was his first time. If he did have them before I wonder if he was diagnosed and received treatment (depending on which type he had) and if he did; did he actually take the medicine required?

When I do not know these things, I can not bitch about why it is important for people to take the required medicine. Even if they may not completely cure it, it would reduce the risk of something like this happening. Then again I’m not a doctor, so who knows what could have happened.

Sheep Set On Fire
source: nu.nl (dutch)

A sheep was the victim of a brutal assault last weekend when someone drenched it in flammable fluids and set on fire. The fleece on the back of the sheep has been completely burnt off and it’s front legs suffered third degree burns. For the sake of the animal, Police said, that a veterinarian may have to humanely euthanize the animal because of the severity of the injuries.

News items like this piss me off. What the fuck did a sheep ever do to you to set if on fire. Did it look at you the wrong way? Did it bleat at you the wrong way? Or was it just simply in your way? Where the fuck is the fun of setting a sheep on fire. Do you feel like a bigger person now? Does it make you feel proud? Can you brag about it to your friends now? Piece of shit

Belgian Woman Forgotten in MRI scan
source: nu.nl (dutch)

A Belgian woman was left in an MRI scanner just before the weekend. Staff didn’t pick her up from the room until after an hour when they noticed her husband sitting in the waiting room. The woman was supposed to go in for a 15 minute treatment, but was left in much longer. “I thought it was taking a long time, but I waited patiently,” the woman said. “The light in the tunnel went out and then the light in the room went out.”

The doctor went home and after an hour a nurse spotted the waiting husband. The hospital apologized and released a statement. “During the holiday, only one doctor is available for two machines. There was no danger. The cleaning crew would have found her on Monday morning anyway.”

*snort* Okay, I can see the humorous side and the not so humorous side of this story. I for one would not want to be left alone, in the dark, in one of those tunnels. If you were not a claustrophobic before you went in to one of those things, you sure as hell would have been after.

They would have found her Monday morning anyway. That made me giggle just a little. Though it is absolutely wrong, wrong, wrong to ever leave a patient in that type of situation and shows a total lack of professionalism (and no I do not care that there is only one doctor per two machines on the holidays).

If I were the woman, I would’ve been screaming right when the light went off!
I’ve heard in the last 2 days the most horror stories from people that have had very bad experiences in hospitals! Some how, many people put doctors as “Idols” and “Gods” that can make no mistakes! A friend who is an engineer said that his mistakes will fall to the ground, but the doctor’s mistakes get buried!

I also hate any kind of cruelty to animals! That is only one step away from hurting humans.

Lets hope for more goofy news!
    See ya!
